Within walking distance from the Spanish Steps, Stella McCartney opens her first Roman boutique today. It is the designer’s second flagship store in Italy, following the first one opened in Milan last year.

An ancient, brass-framed arch welcomes the clientele; the interior design is inspired by the principles of environmental sustainability, so dear to the British designer who does not employ leather or fur in her collections: the made-to-measure oak floor, designed by Raw Edges for Established & Sons, was actually realized using organic woods. The prêt-à-porter collections are displayed on white steel structures that match to perfection with the pale gray Venetian stucco walls; the  accessories are on show on geometrical cubes of tiles covered with felt wool from organic cultivations. A  personal wardrobe service is also available.

The store includes a space dedicated to the kids collections, an area conceived to make shopping a fun experience, suitable also for children.

To celebrate the opening of the new boutique in Rome, Stella McCartney has designed an exclusive version of her Falabella tote in soft gray.
